  • Riders under 18 will need a signed parental consent form in order to race or ride.

Mt. Davis Gravel Grinder Fund Supplemental COVID-19 Safety Plan

Mt. Davis Gravel Grinder Fund assures that all participants, spectators, and volunteers will be safe during the event by following the PA Department of Health and CDC guidelines for COVID-19. The below mitigation plan will be incorporated along with the race safety plan that has already been implemented.

Pre- Race
• No day of registration permitted. All participants will be required to register on-line before the event. This will help reduce any social contact within six feet at the venue.
• At the venue, it will be mandatory that all participants, volunteers, family, and friends wear a face covering while within six feet of another individual. This is an open-air event with plenty of room to support 250 individuals.
• Hand sanitizer will be provided at numerous locations at the venue including porta johns.
• Prior to the race, attendees will be required to complete a form certifying that they have not experienced symptoms of fever, fatigue, difficulty in breathing, dry cough or any other symptoms relating to COVID-19 within the last 14 days; that neither they nor any members of their household have been outside of the United States in the 30 days prior to the race; and that they have neither been diagnosed with or infected with the COVID-19 virus and to the best of their knowledge, have not been exposed to anyone who has tested positive for the COVID -19 virus in the past 30 days. They will also be asked to sign the waiver form.

Race Start
• The race will be a mass start (all at once start). All racers must wear a face-covering at this time. We are encouraging neck gators or buffs to be worn, which can be easily moved down onto the neck.
• After the start of the race and once the race has opened up (and it will spread out on the first climb 1 mile into the race)-(this is a 53-mile racecourse which will take anywhere from three to 6 hours to complete) racers may remove or lower their face covering as long as they can distance themselves from other racers.

Race
• When racers stop at the aid (feed) station, they must have the face cover on while within six feet of another racer, volunteer, or spectator.
• Hand sanitizer will be provided at the aid stations for all participants, volunteers, and spectators to use.
• All volunteers at the aid station or on the racecourse must wear a face covering while within six feet of another individual and they must wear gloves while preparing and maintaining the aid station.
• If racers need support along the racecourse or assistance getting back to the race venue they must have a face cover on while within six feet of another individual. Volunteers must wear a face cover and gloves while within six feet of the participant.
• All race assistance vehicles (SAG) will have hand sanitizer for all participants and volunteers to use.

Post-Race
• At the venue, it will be mandatory that all participants, volunteers, family, and friends wear a face covering while within six feet of another individual. This is an open-air event with plenty of room to support 250 individuals.
• Hand sanitizer will be provided at numerous locations at the venue including porta johns.
• Post-race ceremonies such as the award presentation will be done with individuals one at a time keeping participants six feet away from each other.
